Everytime I click NEXT to go to a new show page I get a pop up window. I am also getting it on some of the pages when I click random links
I disabled my pop up stopper and I am seeing double ads at the top of the screen (at times) as well as one on the side is this normal? I dont mind minimal site ads but pop ups are a no go for me.

Hiya Queentina, yes these popups, have just started for me this week as well. It’s almost every-time I click on any link/page here…. hmmmm…

Users get lots of features for being members. The donation page states that ads are kept to a minimum as long as donations cover site costs…since the site costs are well over $600/month, $100/month in donations from thousands of people using our hard work won’t pay the bills, and it’s ads for everyone or no site, for now at least. That could and will most likely change as we grow. Members still get fewer ads than non members, and the ones that are here are sooo much tamer and less aggressive than elsewhere. We have gone to great pains to insure that. Actually if we brought back the scam ads and instituted fake HD buttons and other things the other sites use we could probably pay the bills – but I refuse.

On many other sites the banners are porn or the site is littered with fake “play now” crap for the unwary visitor. At least here, you know it’s an ad and can ignore it or close it. You have no idea how much work it took to be legitimately recognized as NOT a pirate site to get those normal ads here. And those new banners currently pay 2 cents per thousand views, down from four cents when they were first placed – cause…well you can imagine why.

I do want to thank the four people who have made donations this month, and apologize to them that they have to view ads. Working on some kind of extra reward for them though. It will take some thought because it is illegal to charge a membership fee or accept money directly for link access. And I know, coyotebleu, that you have regularly donated in the past and appreciate that.

When you say “Members” who are you referring to?
You mean people who are PAYING you or people who have actually signed up to use the site?
Because by my account I am a “Member”
I dont mind ads just not a pop up. It was occuring on EVERY LINK I CLICKED.
That is the ONLY REASON I contacted you.

Thanks for making me feel like crap for not donating to you more than once. I am on disability and not that you care it is very limited. So NO I cannot pay you every month and I cannot pay you large sums. If I had the money and ability I would be going to the movie etc. Making me feel guilty was just a little much …. not that you would care though.

Thanks for that. I am sure that made your day a whole lot brighter. hope so.

As far as being on disability, welcome to the club! Probably 50% of our members are on the same boat, including myself. So you can imagine how hard it is to support the site when donations do not cover it – therefore the ads you were complaining about.

I don’t care if people donate, but do care about complaints regarding advertisements I worked very hard to find, when it is clearly stated that ads are dependant on total donations. They also don’t occur on every link – once per page – second click on the same page, no pop. Change pages and click again within 60 seconds, no pop. Hardly every link.

Your “offense” is unwarranted and most likely due to a personal misunderstanding — Too busy working on keeping this place online to figure it out.

You were querying about the popups, I answered.

“Members” refers to anyone registered, not donors.

No one “pays” us for any services.

The company who's banners we have been running for two months, Meloads, stiffed us on the over $500 they owe us. They have not answered any emails for the last 4 weeks, and the bill we submitted remains unpaid almost two weeks beyond their promised date.

This has caused a bit of a pinch, to say the least, although we were able to pay the server bill at the end of last month by sacrificing other things.  Last month brought in $35 in donations, which we are thankful for, but it was one of the lightest months on record.

We have replaced the Meloads banners with offers from Amazon, which are fun and seem to be doing well, but they will not be paying for 60 days.  We are also working on obtaining other legitimate advertisers, but even when found they too will have net 30 or 60 payment delays.

If we can't raise enough in donations to safely keep things running we will have to allow some distasteful ads and more aggressive popups - which pay well, and quickly, but are not user friendly at all and disrupt the site experience.  They are also very hard to monitor and keep clean as their providers really don't care about users.

PayPal has been returned as a donation option, and Google Pay added, as well as crypto if desired.  Any amount helps! You can go HERE to help out.  PM ub_kma with any questions, or use the CONTACT form.

Thanks!
