Amazing adaptation, even if it was directed by a jackass CIA asset.

I liked it. The author of the book actually did fly about 60 missions in a bomber in ww2. I cant fathom the balls it took to have to volunteer to do that.

This would have been better as a movie rather than a Series. Why draw it out, just get to the point already !!! – Not my cup of tea.

It was a movie also. Circa 1970 with Alan Arkin.

No way I would put this POS in the same league as Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Flags of our Fathers and definitely not Generation Kill. It is based on a rabid anti-war novel that was a big hit with hippies in the 60’s (no surprise there). Secondly, the lead character is an introspective malingerer OFFICER who incessantly complains and whines about doing his duty and Lastly, it’s not even that funny of a series to try and make up for what it lacks in substance… Overall, the series was way below average for me,but it’s from Hulu so that makes sense. Another Dud.👎

Reading comprehension ftw…I said Generation War…not Kill.

To be clear Catch 22 was started in the 50’s and published in 1961..Long before there were hippies. It’s anti bureaucracy..and supposedly more influenced by the Korean war and McCarthyism than WWII. Heller had served in WWII.
It was a fantastic book and, and if not destroyed by too much current PC, will hopefully be a good adaption for me . I’ve only just begun.

This series captures the period so well, transporting the viewer back to world war two in Italy. The story itself needs no introduction, based on a well known novel, Catch-22 deals with human condition during war and all of it’s complexities. The attention to detail, the aircraft, costumes, cinematography and soundtrack, coupled with an amazing cast. There so many moments of humor, shock, anguish, anger and melancholy threaded throughout the story. This is one of the best mini-series I’ve ever viewed, right up there with the likes of Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Flag of our Fathers and Generation War. A Must Watch.
